Bollywood Billionaire Makes Hollywood Movie Deal

Bollywood media company Reliance Big Entertainment, run by Anil Ambani, the sixth richest man in the world, has announced that it is likely to make 10 Hollywood movies for a billion dollars. To do this, Reliance signed agreements with the production groups of Hollywood stars Nicolas Cage, Jim Carrey, George Clooney, Tom Hanks and Brad Pitt.

However, the miles of not going to those movies can be traditional Bollywood titles. Rajesh Sawney, president of Reliance, stated: “We have to produce Hollywood films that have a global audience. We have not put Bollywood in Hollywood yet.” In addition, he indicated that his group was able to select films based on the theme of their content, rather than genre. He said, “I guess Indian films are stereotyped where everyone does a song and dance backwards in the same way that Hollywood gets stereotypes of intercourse and violence. We are looking for accurate content regardless of gender.” Finally, Mr. Sawnhey stated that the foundation hopes to make some big movies to make money for it. “We’re trying to make big-budget Hollywood movies that make us money,” he said.

Hollywood has been seeking investment from Indian filmmakers for some time now as the US financial system suffers. In recent years, Disney, News Corporation and Sony have made big cash deals with Bollywood companies, although one of the shows was not as big as the Reliance Show.

Mr. Sawhney claimed that the deal marked the beginning of a long courtship between Bollywood and Hollywood. “The goal is that we will see 30 film scripts under this agreement in the next few years, of which 10 will make it to the screen. This is just the beginning of Hollywood’s courtship,” he said.
